What is peer-to-peer fundraising?

Peer-to-peer fundraising is for supporters who want to get more involved with Helpusadopt.org’s fundraising process and raise money for the organization’s adoption grant program. With peer-to-peer fundraising, you can translate your passion for Helpusadopt.org into dollars and awareness by looping in your family, friends, and communities. People we wouldn’t otherwise be able to reach!

 

What if I don’t know any people who can give a large amount?

Being a young organization, Helpusadopt.org is built on smaller donation sizes. We encourage everyone to donate to help build a family. You will be surprised how fast your donations add up to meet your goal!

 

How do I raise the money?

All fundraising pages are customized and built through our peer-to-peer fundraising platform. You can easily share you page’s custom link via email or social media.

How much time will it take to create my peer fundraising page? What will I need to build it?

It will take you approximately 10 minutes to set up your peer fundraising page. In order to build your page you would need to:

Step One: Create your account with your email address and password.

Step Two: Determine your goal ($250 or up), upload a picture, and share why you are doing this great peer fundraising campaign.

I don’t use social media; can I still create a fundraising page?

Absolutely! You do not have to be an avid social media user to do a peer fundraising campaign. In fact, we encourage donors to send personalized email correspondence more frequently than posting on social media. In our experience, your contacts will respond to your email appeal 60% more than through your social media posts.

How much money will I be required to fundraise?

​

There is no required amount to fundraise; Helpusaodpt.org is just thrilled to have you onboard. We understand that asking for money can be frightening, so we always encourage donors to pick a fundraising goal that they feel most comfortable with. You are putting yourself out there and we want you to be confident. With that said, we have had donors set goals from $250 - $15,000.

What if I do not reach the fundraising goal I set? Will I owe Helpusadopt.org the difference?

​

No, you will not be required to pay the difference of what your goal was and how much you raised. If for some reason you do not reach your goal you should still be proud of the difference you made in the life a child. Your peer fundraising page puts us one step closer to building another family no matter how much you raise.

How will I know who donates to my campaign so I can send them a thank you note?
